2017 DODGE CHALLENGER SAFETY CAGE – NEARLY 60% HIGH-STRENGTH STEEL

The new 2017 Dodge Challenger has been awarded a five-star overall safety rating from the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). This is the seventh time the new Dodge Challenger has been awarded a 5-star rating since its introduction to the Dodge lineup in 2008.

Five stars is the highest rating the NHTSA vehicle-evaluation program offers and is awarded based on collision tests and safety feature performance. The new Dodge Challenger exceeded expectations in NHTSA’s side-impact and other simulated collisions yet again this year.

With a body structure of nearly 60 percent high-strength steel and carefully integrated side-guard door beams, the new Challenger is built to protect its occupants in the event of a crash. A sophisticated restraint system with front, rear and side curtain air bags further adds to the overall safety of this model.

Additional safety features that contributed to the Challenger’s Five-Star rating are Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Blind-spot Monitoring (BSM) and Rear Cross Path (RCP) detection systems. All systems monitor surrounding angles of the vehicle and alert the driver when a potential collision is detected.

“This proves the 2017 Dodge Challenger is much more than a great-looking car,” says Mike Dahl, Head of Vehicle Safety and Regulatory Compliance, FCA North America. “It reflects our commitment to delivering exceptional occupant safety in every vehicle segment.”

The Ed Voyles Dodge Dealership near Atlanta is proud to offer an array of new 2017 Dodge Challenger models to choose from. This beautiful, powerful and safe sports car is available for test-drives now.
